My mentor, Dr. Hinoara, was active in various fields at St. Luke's International Hospital until the age of 105.

My taking charge of this section will lead to further spreading my mentor's teachings.

  • That music has wonderful power

  • That you can keep your mind and body healthy by skillfully utilizing your favorite music

is what I want to convey to everyone.

Let's proceed while introducing various topics.

1. Good dreams with the sandman ~The three levels of consciousness~

Do you sleep soundly every night?

We are constantly exposed to various stresses, and it's not uncommon to suffer from insomnia.

There is a famous story in Europe.

In the opera "Hansel and Gretel," the Sandman sprinkles sand into the eyes of the two children after they finish picking strawberries, making them fall asleep.

You may know Brahms's "Sandman."

Moonlight on flowers and grass,
Dreams pursued, necks bowed,
Branches rustle softly,
Sleep, sleep, sleep, my child

(Lyrics: Keizo Horiuchi)

Well, when your eyelids get heavy, your "目" (eyes) "垂" (droop), and you "眠" (sleep), you literally enter "睡眠" (sleep).

Then, you close your eyes and enter an unconscious state, and the deepest thoughts of your heart appear as dreams.

Medically, consciousness includes three levels.

What we always feel:

① Consciousness is... the level at which we can immediately think and judge.

② Preconsciousness is... the part of memory that can be recalled with effort.

③ Unconsciousness is... words and actions that emerge naturally.

Those are the levels.

Also, it can be broadly divided into conscious and subconscious.

It might be good to consider where your words and actions relate to ①, ②, or ③.

2. Music cleanses the soul and refreshes the mind ~The effect of music on sleep~

In fact, music has great power.

For example, let's assume you've been heartbroken and are feeling down.

In such a situation, even if friends or acquaintances try to comfort you with various words, it's rather difficult for your heart to be healed.

This is because they are only appealing to your rational ① conscious level.

On the other hand, music directly affects all levels ①, ②, and ③.

① Consciousness is...

the level at which we can immediately think and judge.

② Preconsciousness is...

the part of memory that can be recalled with effort.

③ Unconsciousness is...

words and actions that emerge naturally.

When you are feeling down, choose music that resonates with your heart, close your eyes, and listen intently.

Your heart will be cleansed as if in a black box, and you'll regain your energy.

The mechanism is shown in the diagram.

When choosing music for sleep, you should avoid songs that excite you or evoke strong emotions through lyrics.

We recommend

  • Baroque music

  • Songs with little melodic or rhythmic movement

  • Natural sounds such as raindrops or the sound of waves

and so on.

Please make good use of music and have pleasant dreams.

The fundamental healing frequency of "528Hz" is also known as the "miracle frequency" and is said to repair damaged or broken cellular DNA exposed to excessive stress.
