The PE-505, developed with the essence of TEAC's audio technology, which is dedicated to recording and reproduction, is a product that amplifies the minute signals from the stylus without compromising sound quality and, with a precise RIAA phono equalizer, aims to bring the sound as close as possible to the original sound before it was etched onto the record, in order to accurately reproduce the intentions of the record producer.

In addition to a high-precision RIAA equalization circuit, it also supports DECCA and COLUMBIA EQ curves. Furthermore, it not only supports load resistance for MC cartridges but also load capacitance switching for MM cartridges, allowing for settings tailored to your records and cartridges.

■ Full-balanced Circuit Design / Cartridge Differential Output Averaging Circuit
・The entire circuit, from the head amplifier and EQ (RIAA) amplifier to the buffer amplifier in the final output stage, features a balanced input/output circuit configuration, amplifying and equalizing minute signals output from the cartridge while maintaining their purity. RCA (unbalanced) input is also converted to differential transmission immediately after input.

・Equipped with a differential output averaging circuit that absorbs balanced output errors and achieves more accurate music reproduction. By configuring the + and - outputs as a cross-coupled differential amplifier, the positive and negative outputs are balanced, resulting in a purer and more natural musical signal reproduction.

■ High-precision RIAA EQ Circuit / High S/N Ratio / High-precision OLD EQ Curves
・High-precision RIAA EQ Circuit: A newly developed NF-type EQ amplifier circuit achieves RIAA deviation (20-20kHz) of ±0.05dB or less.

・High S/N Ratio: In addition to an S/N ratio of 106dB for RCA input (MM) and 86dB for XLR input (MC), it achieves high specifications with residual noise voltage of 10μV for MM and 85μV for MC (XLR).

・The PE-505 also supports two types of OLD EQ curves, DECCA and COLUMBIA, for monaural record playback, in addition to RIAA. Independent EQ circuits are provided for RIAA, DECCA, and Columbia respectively.

■ Diverse Setting Options and Unique Measurement Functions / DEMAG Function for Degaussing MC Cartridges
・Equipped with load capacitance switching for MM cartridges and load resistance switching for MC cartridges. Furthermore, MC cartridges feature a load resistance measurement function; by pressing the MEASURE key, the cartridge's load resistance value, including the cable, is displayed on the meter, allowing you to select the appropriate load resistance yourself.
It also includes a subsonic meter function that detects subsonic components below 6Hz and indicates them on the meter, and a subsonic filter (17Hz, -24dB/oct) that cuts unnecessary low frequencies outside the audible range.

・A simple degaussing function is included, which restores the original sound quality by degaussing the magnetized iron core of the MC cartridge or step-up transformer simply by playing a record for about 30 seconds in the DEMAG position.
